Employment History

Samaritan Counseling Center, Munster, IN (2013 – Present)
I currently have a practice affiliation with the Samaritan Center where I provide psychotherapy services on a contractual basis.

Hopkins Medical Group, Chicago IL (2009 - Present)
Working with Dr Hopkins, I provide Medicare group counseling, along with assessment and treatment planning for many chronically mentally ill clients living in Chicago area nursing homes. These clients are often unable to live independently and many have been in nursing homes for large portions of their lives. Group counseling focuses on medication compliance, coping with and managing symptoms, improving peer interactions, mitigating hopelessness and developing life skills that may facilitate their eventual independent living.

Success Development Services, Orland Park, IL (2008 – Present)
This is my private psychotherapy practice. I specialize in treating mood disorders and anxiety disorders as well as conducting conjoint couple’s counseling. I work closely with third party payers such as health insurance companies and employee assistance programs.

Catholic Charities, Diocese of Rockford, Aurora, IL (2004 – 2008)
As the West Region Counseling Coordinator for Catholic Charities Rockford Diocese, I had a number of responsibilities. I provided individual, family and couple’s counseling for community clients. I did counseling work with child abuse and neglect victims as well as perpetrators as part of my agency’s purchase of service contract with DCFS. I worked with children and parents who were undergoing the adoption process as part of their subsidy arrangements. I assisted with our agency’s Council on Accreditation review and helped see our department successfully through two such examination. I handled all clinical intakes and case assignments for my region. I have done interstate relative home studies which served as the basis for granting approval of foster care placements. I managed quarterly peer reviews of all agency therapists within my region. As part of our Family First contract, I provided in-home counseling for families on the verge of having DCFS remove their children. I worked closely with the family court system of Kane County.

Grand Prairie Services in Tinley Park IL & Ada S. McKinley in Chicago, IL (2003-2004)
During my time a SASS (Screening, Assessment & Support Services) worker I conducted about half of all psychiatric crisis hospital assessments for uninsured minors and DCFS wards in Will and Grundy counties as well as many in Cook County. My assessments were the basis for emergency psychiatric hospitalizations and state funding. I was also responsible providing in-home psychotherapy after clients were discharged. This in-home psychotherapy included medication monitoring, safety plan enforcement and case management with hospital staff, parents, foster parents, DCFS workers, schools and private service providers. This position was intensive; with nearly all clients posing harm self or others. It was also a 24 hour a day on call position that required responding to volatile emergencies in hospitals, schools, homes, and police stations all over Chicagoland.
