Can sombody tell me what content CEP plans to use.

Last time I spoke to Imtherealthing I asked him to negotiate with CEP an "all or nothing" approach to using CCP placeables. I'm assuming that didnt go through. I also wanted CEP to give CCP some rederve lines in the appearances and placeable 2DAs

ALL CCP placeables will be in CEP 2.3 as suggested and freeing up CCP that part of an update.

I do NOT have a list of CCP creatures selected yet -- I know some because i helped make some decisions but then Acaos has made some decisions on his own as well and so i am still waiting on him to give me a list.

I will happily provide information when i have it.

I will mention reserve lines -- humm gives me some ideas actually.

Thanks Barry,

I believe this is a good thing and yes the CCP did give you permission as I e-mailed you and Negalith did say it was "all or nothing" regarding taking the placeables and incorporating them into the CEP and I know you will be doing that...thanks for doing this as many in the community want it this way because they all posted how much they like Negalith's placeables and want them, but not as part of the CCP haks...just remember to give the credit to Negalith and the CCP as you said you would...thanks Barry and CEP team for working with us ...we at the CCP are greatful to your commitment to the NWN community.

If the CCP placeables are being merged into CEP, am I going to need to retrofit all those placeables that are used in my mod?  Or will they have the same resref and appearance 2da?  It's been a minor pain with some recent CEP updates to find that some items or placeables got juggled around, and something like a severed head has suddenly become a comfy blanket.

The blanket is Bioware's dong -- and as it  is our policy, with a very few exceptions like the nightmare upgrades, CEP bends to Bioware.

In this case i found my maps for Annakolia turned into blankets.  The map icons still exist in another bank of misc small items #3 bank i think.   This of course requires a remake of the item to switch banks to get the proper icon which is a pain -- but then 1.69 was worth a little pain don't you think?

Anyway it is Bioware's fault -- really.

Heh, you too, eh?  I must apologize for my hasty conclusion.  But you're right, now that you've mentioned it, they did switch appearance banks.  I should have just limited my question to, "Will my Storm Giant bedroom furniture remain as is if the CEP claims these resources, or will I need to re-tool it again in the Toolset?"

Although the 2da lines will go into reserved cep 2da lines, with the blueprints being changed to accommodate those appearance numbers, all one has to do is update that to the module -- if you used the CCP blueprint, when updated it will change those you used in the module without a lot of difficult work, using the update blueprint option.

I too am wondering what to do about this... Im strongly considering keeping 2da lines in CCP so that everything remains backwards compatable....

My choices are...   keep CCP 2da lines which keeps everythijg backwards compatable, but has redundant appearances

or

leave at all to CEP which means there will be no redundant appearances, but it wont be backwards and people will have to update many instances

on Karador for example... updating instances takes about an hour per item...   DOing this for 300 placeables scares the bejeasus out of me.    Not to mention...  I seldom make things from the base pallet...  I have a ton of custom stuff that got made adhock that would have to be addressed.

( it's my oppinion that builders would ather have redundant appearances than having to update a lot of blueprint appearances. )

Send them -- i will see if we can get them in before 2.3 ships  == really, i will be attending the meeting tonight will will address this so the sooner the better.
